Walbrook Rowing Club are back on the water
Rowers at Walbrook Rowing Club are back out on the water.
Permitted to row in singles only club members have been enjoying being back and doing the sport they love.
Walbrook chairman Diane Graham explained what it has been like to get back out on the water.
She said: "It's been really great to get back on the water, especially to get all the juniors back out there.
"Everyone has been really excellent in keeping to the new cleaning regime.
"75% of our adult members are now eligible to come back and row."
New measures have been put in place such as a one-way system in the boathouse and an extensive cleaning regime for oars after they have been used.
The club was formed back in 1962 and has members aged between 11 years old all the way up to 80.
While rowers sit more than 1m away from each other in the boat, British Rowing has strongly advised against going out in multi-person boats.
Those who row in dragon boats sit closer than that to each other and there is no indication when they will be allowed to return.
The club is situated at Teddington Watersports Centre which is preparing to reopen on July 4th.
