Richmond Council is asking for the public to help name the brand new community centre being built as part of the Ham Close regeneration.

The local authoirty and Achieving for Children (AfC) have collaborated with local young people and community groups to create a shortlist and now we are calling on residents to help decide on the final name of the new centre.

The regeneration of Ham Close is a "landmark initiative", with nearly £7 million of investment to the community facilities in the area.

This new community centre will replace the existing Ham Youth Centre, providing a hub for social activities as well as learning, creativity, and innovation.

The new centre will be managed by AfC and will offer a range of activities, including tuition and extra curriculum programmes for students during the day and youth club activities after 3pm.

It will also serve as a potential future Family Hub, pending the results of a pilot programme.

The wider community will also benefit from this new centre, with opportunities to hire spaces such as the community lounge, kitchen, meeting rooms, and sports hall.

The three shortlisted names are:

  • The Hive
  • Ham Junction
  • The Cube

Cast your vote and help choose the perfect name for this new community resource.
