Volunteer as a press officer for Arts Richmond

We love the arts here at Nub News so we love opportunities to help them out.

Arts Richmond are looking for a volunteer press officer.

The post runs until the end of November and is based at the ETNA Community Centre in St Margaret's.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Continue strategic development and expansion of our arts network, events and initiatives.

Forge and maintain excellent relationships with Arts Richmond members, affiliates and external stakeholders by establishing strong media contacts across the borough, city and further afield.

Identify and facilitate broadcast and press opportunities for Arts Richmond, working with the arts charity to deliver effective media appearances online, as well as on radio, television and in traditional print publications

proactively contact media outlets and platforms to publicise Arts Richmond's events, members and spokespeople via broadcast, print and social media.

Maintain regular contact with Arts Richmond spokespeople and affiliates, to help them develop messaging for key arts issues.

Remain up to date with local, national and international news agendas, in order to brief Arts Richmond members and affiliates so they are sufficiently prepared for media appearances.

Implement lessons from our communications reviews

deliver media training for Arts Richmond spokespeople and where necessary, its affiliates and allied organisations, campaigns and communities.

REQUIREMENTS

Evidence of strong administration skills and of high literacy, including excellent written and spoken English; additional languages and literary skills are also welcome.

Proficient email marketing abilities, including regular use of marketing automation platforms such as Mail Chimp.

Experience with managing social media campaigns.

Experience working with a charity is welcome but not essential.
