Vicar of St Mary with St Alban, Teddington, conducts 'virtual' Easter Sunday Service

By The Editor 5th Nov 2021

The Vicar of St Mary with St Alban, Teddington, Joe Moffatt today conducted a 'virtual' Easter Sunday service from the garden of the vicarage.

He was joined only by his immediate family to adhere to the government rules for a service of Holy Communion with prayers, readings and traditional hymns and music.

In the unusual setting the Vicar offered prayers to those who had passed away from the virus as well as those who are vulnerable in the local community.

He said: 'It's an Easter like no other, a scary pandemic that has come all too close to home, a level of fear, anxiety and grief that is compounded by the need to keep isolated or distanced from one another. The church building may be closed but Easter cannot be cancelled. It's not really important which building we can or can't enter."
