The planned Tube strike on Monday 8 April and Saturday 4 May has been cancelled.

An ASLEF union representative has said the resolution of "key issues" allowed the strike to be called off.

Nick Dent, London Underground's Director of Customer Operations, has said: "We will continue to work constructively with the trade unions to avoid disruption and address concerns."

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan commented on Twitter yesterday 4 April: "This demonstrates - once again - what can be achieved by talking and engaging with transport staff and trade unions rather than working against them."

Strikes are still planned by the ASLEF union on National Rail services from 5 to 8 April.

Along with an overtime ban from 4 to 6 April and 8 to 9 April, there will be major disruption across the entire National Rail network, with no service on some lines.

Services are also likely to be disrupted and start later on the day immediately following a full strike day.

Both Southern and South Western Railway are striking on Monday 9 April, along with Heathrow Express strikes on 6 April.

For more information regarding this industrial action, see National Rail's website here.
