UPDATE: Man dies at Surbiton Station, causing train disruptions

A man died at Surbiton Station yesterday afternoon (March 3).

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 4.30pm but the man died at the station.

Train services from Surbiton were delayed, cancelled and revised as a result of the incident.

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service told Nub News: "We were called at 4.26pm to the station to reports of a person unwell.

"We sent ambulance crews, clinicians in response cars and an advanced paramedic practitioner.

"Sadly, despite their efforts a man died at the scene."

South Western Railway (SWR) services towards Woking were disrupted initially disrupted by resumed by 6.15pm.

A spokesperson for the British Transport Police (BTP) added: ""Officers were called to Surbiton railway station at around 4:30pm yesterday (3 March) following reports of a medical emergency.

"Officers attended alongside paramedics. A man was treated but despite their best efforts he died at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious"
