A new dog grooming shop, Wild Bush, opened its doors in Teddington on 1 February.

It is housed in the former Ladbrokes in 140 High Street.

Wild Bush is a chain with shops in Putney, Richmond, Barnes, and Fulham, and the Teddington store is its sixth. The owners plan to open a new store in Chiswell too.

The shop is a "human and dogs" grooming shop, selling "carefully sourced products which you can't get on Amazon," Wild Bush's co-owner Matt told Teddington Nub News.

He said that the shore stocks "carefully sourced products" from all over the world, including the United States and Turkey.

It also sources products that are handmade locally.

Products, include leads, collars, beds, and food bowls, all sold at "reasonable prices", says Matt.

Matt explained that Wild Bush also sells dog treats and customers can request for treats not available instore to be ordered in.

Speaking about the opening, Matt told Teddington Nub News: "It's been a challenge converting the site from its former occupation as a betting shop, but everyone's been super lovely."

While the Wild Bush chain is known for hiring "London's best dog groomers", the grooming service is not currently in action, but it will be soon and the store is "taking people's emails to prepare for it", says Matt.

Matt co-owns Wild Bush with Azat.

The store is a good site with a long room and chairs and tables at the back, which Azat says will soon be used as a communal area for "locals to hang out or work".

Azat, who lives near Bushy Park, previously had two dogs when living in Vancouver, Canada, but they sadly passed.

He said he doesn't have any dogs now because he has two young children to look after, but he "absolutely loves dogs".

Matt and Azat have clearly gone through much effort to restore the site to its former Edwardian glory with its high ceilings.

The pair plan to host events at Wild Bush too, such as dog parties and meetups.

Wild Bush Teddington is open from 8am – 4pm Monday – Saturday and from 9am – 4pm on Sundays.

You can find out more about Wild Bush via its website or by popping in.
