Ever since the pandemic started, Teddington professionals left without work have been turning their passions into full-time businesses.

Now another Teddington resident is joining them in their success.

Muffin Mad was up in November by reflexologist Georgie Hawes and delivers a range of bakes to customers in Richmond borough and beyond.

Treats on offer include Maltesers millionaire's shortbread, salted caramel brownies and red velvet cupcakes.

Hawes, 29, worked as a reflexologist for nine years before the pandemic hit.

Sadly, lockdown meant she could no longer see clients at her practice Retreat4YourFeet.

So, she decided to start a bakery business to keep occupied during the week.

At Muffin Mad she makes cakes and other bakes for occasions throughout the year, including birthdays, Burns' Night and now Valentine's Day.

Orders can be made on her Instagram page @muffin__mad or via email to [email protected].

Her bakes are also stocked at recently opened Hampton Wick café and food shop Cheese & Pickle.

Hawes mostly uses recipes from the Hummingbird Bakery, but adds her own unique twist.

Her favourite bakes are her red velvet cupcakes, which will be on sale next week in boxes two as a Valentine's Day treat.

Before training as a reflexologist, Hawes studied fashion and textiles at university.

She grew up in Putney and moved to Teddington two and a half years ago, where she married her husband Bill.

Bill is supportive of his wife's business and a fan of her bakes.

"Absolutely delicious cakes that are very local to me....can't stop eating them" he commented on social media.
