Inspirational musicians from The Music Man Project, a multi-award-winning, world record-breaking charity for musicians with learning disabilities, will debut at the Normansfield Theatre, Langdon Down Centre on Saturday 26 October at 6pm.

Founded by the UK Disability and Access Ambassador for Arts and Culture, David Stanley BEM, The Music Man Project is a global beacon of musical inclusivity and opportunity.

The charity operates across the United Kingdom and has reached Nepal, the Philippines, South Africa, India, Italy, the USA and Canada.

Stanley's musicians have entertained Royalty, performed original productions at the London Palladium and Royal Albert Hall, featured on TV and radio, broken a Guinness World Record and opened a national TV advert.

In April this year, The Music Man Project returned to the Royal Albert Hall to showcase 300 musicians with learning disabilities from across their UK network in an original production called Music is Magic.

They were accompanied by His Majesty's Band of the Royal Marines, with a special guest appearance by Music Man Project patron, Michael Ball.

It was the nation's largest ever celebration of accessible music.

The concert at Normansfield will welcome the charity's world-renowned Global Ambassadors, whose recent accolades include a top 10 Christmas single with the Royal Marines, a concert tour to San Diego, a debut at the Royal Nova Scotia Tattoo in Canada, a standing ovation from His Majesty the King and at Number 10 Downing Street.

Stanley said: "The Music Man Project has performed at some of the most prestigious and exciting venues in the world.

"Many of our musicians have Down Syndrome so performing in this beautiful and historic venue will be particularly poignant. It is very important to us all."

Tickets are £10 and available now from the Langdon Down Centre. All proceeds will go towards the Down's Syndrome Association and The Music Man Project.
