The Fallow Deer is all set to reopen its doors on July 29th - that's in just seven days time!

The cafe and bar is located on the high street and has still been offering takeaway service for the past month.

Owner Al told us of her excitement to be finally getting customers back through the door.

She said: "We're so glad to finally be able to reopen. It's been quite a tricky process.

"Our building is long and thin so we've had to be very careful with were our tables are.

"We have had to go from 26 tables down to eight but we had a meeting with Richmond Council that was really helpful."

While there are obvious challenges to becoming Covid secure the cafe has taken them all in their stride.

They have returned with a limited menu to accommodate for having two chefs rather than four due to social distancing measures.

A number of sanitising stations have also been placed around the cafe as well.

The cafe has been impressed with support from the local community.

Al added: "We've had people coming here everyday and supporting us - we really appreciate the help.

"A lot of people have been telling us how excited they are to be coming back and want to be here on the first day.

"We appreciate that some people will be reluctant still but we're optimistic we'll get people coming back."
