Unfortunately The Fabric House on Broad Street is set to close on August 29th.

The shop announced on Twitter earlier this week that they would have to close.

It comes as many businesses are struggling due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The owner of the shop is in her 80s and a combination of declining health and the current situation means that the hard decision to close the shop had to be taken.

The shop had been open for 25 years and with the lease up for renewal soon the owner decided to close the business.

The shop will however still be taking orders for curtains and blinds until the end of July.

Customers took to Twitter to express their disappointment of The Fabric House closing.

One said: "Such a shame. Great knowledge and service over the years."

Another added: "How sad!"
