Teddington's Elleray Centre is hosting a fundraising quiz night at its new venue on North Lane this week.

The quiz night, which will be the first in a series of fundraising events, will run from 7.30pm – 10pm on Thursday, 12 February.

The event will be hosted by Peter Parkin, an experienced and fun local quiz master.

There will be several rounds to test your general knowledge including your grasp of popular culture and overall mastery of trivia - giving teams the perfect opportunity to revel in their command (or lack of it) of the who, what, when, why and how.

Guests are invited to attend as a table of six or can let the organisers bring them into a team on the night.

There will be prizes as well as a raffle, and a licensed bar where you can drown your sorrows or toast your successes.

"And it's all in a great cause," says Elleray Community Association (ECA).

All proceeds will go to ECA, the local charity that provides services for older people living in and around Teddington.

Its "much-valued" social club is open every weekday and is based at The Elleray Centre.

It gives members the opportunity to make and meet friends while taking part in a variety of classes and activities to keep them fit, healthy and above all, entertained.

ECA said: "For many, it really is a social lifeline!"

 All funds raised will go towards maintaining and expanding the services ECA provides both for club members and the entire local community.

Speaking about the event, organiser Robert Dollery said: "We wanted to create a fun way for people to come together for an enjoyable event to raise funds that will help make a real difference to the lives of people who live in this area.

"So please, round up your friends and come along! You will be supporting a great cause as well as enjoying a great evening!"

Tickets cost £10 per person plus a very small booking fee and are only available to buy here.
