Teddington's Landmark Arts Centre was packed to the rafters on Sunday evening with wonderful performances from FIVE different choirs and a range of joint recitals.

The centre's debut Festival of Choirs included the Landmark's three residential choirs; The Landmark Singers, Landmark Sound and Mansong.

The trio were joined by two invited choirs which featured Palace Acapella from Crystal Palace, with six representatives in attendance from the group's usual 25 members, who left the Landmark stage to a massive ovation.

The evening played host to a wide variety of music encompassing traditional folk songs, world music, jazz and pop with highlights including 'Shallow' from A Star is Born, the beautiful ballad 'Somewhere' from West Side Story, A Sea Shanty, the Beach Boys classic Sloop John B, Take That's Rule the World and various African-based songs with plenty of foot-stomping and hand-clapping, and a fantastic performance from the Chase Bridge Community Choir.

Sunday night's sell out topped a jam-packed weekend for the Landmark in style with the centre also playing host to Thames Philharmonia for their Spring 23 concert on Saturday as well as the latest #PARTICIPATE offering, Music Building.

Young children from across the borough enjoyed exploring the art of making music through graphics and architecture as they drew and constructed their own pieces of music with professional musicians before receiving a live copy to take home with them.
