Teddington has welcomed its latest addition to Broad Street - Health supermarket retailer, Planet Organic.
The UK's largest fully certified organic supermarket opened its 14th store in Teddington last week ( February 21) and celebrated by welcoming new customers with complementary sweet potato brownies and 10% discount cards.
Planet Organic will offer residents a vast range of products for those seeking healthier, alternative options for their weekly food shop whilst the Teddington store will also have four qualified nutritionists and one qualified nurse who will be able to advise customers during their visits.
The chain is well known for high-quality, organic and planet-friendly products ranging from fresh groceries, chilled and frozen ranges, beauty and wellbeing, coffee, juices, smoothies and food to go.
Teddington's Planet Organic can be found at 60-62 Broad Street, previously belonging to Johnson's Shoes store which opened in 1952 and remained a family business until its closure in 2021.
Aliz Tentea, New Stores Opening Manager at Planet Organic said "We're hugely excited to be bringing Planet Organic to Teddington. The response from the community so far has been amazing. Our Brand Ambassador has been standing outside the front of the shop, introducing Planet Organic to the community and the response has been overwhelming with queues along the street!
"We identified Teddington as a fantastic fit for Planet and we can't wait to welcome customers into store, introduce them to our fantastic range of products and our expert colleagues, helping the people of Teddington to discover better on everything from fresh, organic food to the most innovative and exciting products in health & wellness."
In addition to its range of healthy products, the eco-friendly supermarket will be working in tandem with local causes and has already committed a £500 donation to Richmond-based homeless charity, SPEAR, which will be used to support the organisation's services and its preparations for World Health Day.
Helen Whittaker, Director of Fundraising and Engagement at SPEAR, added: "We want to say a huge thank you to Planet Organic for supporting SPEAR. We are a local charity working to support people experiencing homelessness. We strive for communities in which anyone facing or experiencing homelessness can quickly move into secure accommodation, get effective support, and work towards their hopes and aspirations. This generous donation will be hugely helpful for us."
