Teddington volunteer cycles 200km to raise money for Royal National Lifeboat Institution
On Sunday 25 August, Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) Teddington Lifeboat volunteer Paul Roach cycled 200 km to raise money for the RNLI in light of its 200th birthday.
Roach cycled from Teddington to Hampton and back nine times, which took him nine and a half hours.
Roach told Teddington Nub News that he had trained "not to go faster, but to go for longer".
He said: "So in the end, it wasn't easy, but I was quite comfortable."
Teddington RNLI crew members joined him on the last lap, including Jan and Sam Lowe.
Roach said: "It was nice to have company on the last lap because that would have been the most difficult one."
So far Roach has raised £1250, but his goal is to raise £1500.
