Teddington vape and mobile phone shop seeks permission to sell alcohol and extended operating hours

A vape, off-license, and mobile phone shop in Teddington is seeking permission to sell alcohol for consumption off the premises and to extend its operating hours.
Clouded Connection / Tech 'n' Vape on Broad Street hopes to sell alcohol from 8am – 11pm seven days a week and to extend its operating hours to the same times.
The shop is currently open from 10am – 6pm seven days a week.
The application, submitted by Honey Kumar, has received a number of objections from local residents concerned with the application and licensing objectives.
In a licensing sub-committee meeting on Tuesday (27 May), Cllr Matthew Hull expressed concerns about spirits being kept in the fridge within the store.
However, Surendra Panchal, a representative for Clouded Connections, confirmed that spirits would be stored behind the counter.
Panchal also said that the shop will ensure that all staff it employs will be fully trained under the licensing objectives as well as using CCTV, setting up posters about public nuisance, and checking and logging ID under the Challenge 25 regulations.
Tech 'n' Vape has been open for a year and another representative of the shop explained that there have been no instances within the year that it has been open.
However, locals attending the meeting argued against this and raised concerns about how granting of the application would affect both the NHS services in the area and residents living locally.
Richmond council will make a decision in the coming days.
