Teddington Theatre Club’s production of ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time’ to run later this month

Local theatre goers are in for a treat later this month as Simon Stephens' The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time arrives at Hampton Hill Theatre, produced by Teddington Theatre Club (TTC).
Based on the award-winning novel by Mark Haddon, the play tells the story of 15-year-old Christopher Boone, who, in a quest to solve the mystery of a neighbour's murdered dog, embarks on an epic adventure that will turn his world upside down.

According to Time Magazine, "It's a play that works on every level - crowd-pleasing, eye-opening, life-affirming and unmissable."
Christopher Boone is not a typical dramatic hero. Although the play never defines his specific condition, he sees the world differently and his thought process is both extraordinary and challenging.
Director Nigel Cole from TTC agrees, saying "It's unlike any other play I've been involved with. An extraordinary adventure – a moving, heartwarming, and thought-provoking story, showing the beauty of seeing the world from a different perspective.
"And what's made the rehearsal process extra special is that I've been privileged to learn much from our cast and creative team – several of whom have deep professional and personal experience of neuro-divergent lives."

The action of the play moves rapidly from place to place and backwards and forwards in time.
It presents the world and the extreme moments in Christopher's adventure, entirely through his eyes.
Cole said: "This demands storytelling that's fast and fluid.
"Any kind of traditional staging elements and set would be clunky and unworkable.
"So, we've adopted the presentation style of the original National production, combining high-tech visuals with expressive physical theatre."
TTC's Production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time runs from 7.45pm – 10.15pm, Monday, 23 June to Friday, 27 June.
On Saturday, 28 June, there will be a relaxed performance at 2pm and an evening performance at 6.30pm.
