Teddington Swimming Club almost back in the water
It has been a long few months for Teddington Swimming Club but there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel.
Indoor swimming pools can reopen from July 25th and this means the club can finally get back in the water.
Development Head Coach Jan Shepherd expressed her enthusiasm for returning to the pool.
She said: "The coaches and swimmers are so excited that we finally have a date that the pools can open.
"We are busy working on the logistics of what a return to the pool could look like implementing the guidelines from Swim England.
"We are waiting for the pool operators to tell us when they may open and what a return to the pool would look like from their perspective.
"So we're not quite there yet but hoping for some positive news soon.
"The return to the pool will be very challenging and the safety of our swimmers, pool operators and coaches is paramount."
There are still a few more steps the club has to go through to get back in the water but the situation is certainly more promising than just a few weeks ago.
The club is located on Vicarage Road and have been running fitness challenges over Twitter during lockdown to keep their swimmers active.
Teddington Swimming Club describes itself as: "An inclusive, competitive club that provides swimming opportunities for all ages, from swimming lessons for beginners, through a range of competitive age-group squads to the Masters programme."
