Teddington shop launches 'fittest street' running challenge
By Tilly O'Brien 9th Sep 2026
A Teddington-based sporting goods shop is set to host a running competition to find out the town's fittest street.
Up & Running Teddington's four week challenge will run from 21 September - 18 October.
To get involved, Up & Running Teddington said: "Chat to your neighbours on your street and form a team or maybe post on your street's WhatsApp if you have one."
It then asks you to complete the form here.
Participating streets must set up a Strava club, via this link, using their street name for all participants to join. This will automatically log all your street's running miles and allow participants to invite fellow street members to join their Strava Club.
Up & Running Teddington asks that you check that your street does not already have a Strava page before making one.
Once these steps are completed, participants can start running.
Rules and Categories
At least one of every runners' runs over the four week challenge needs to be an SRG run from the store, located at 70-72 Broad Street, on a Tuesday.
The Teddington store's SRG is an easy, social 5KM run in Bushy Park every Tuesday at 6.15pm starting from the store.
To make this challenge fair, there are three categories by street size:
- 50 homes or less
- 51 - 100 homes
- More than 100 homes
Results
Each Monday one runner from your street will need to email a screenshot of their street's Strava Club's miles to [email protected].
Up & Running Teddington will then publish a league table on its Instagram page here.

Fantastic prizes are to be shared as you wish by your street in each category from: Feetures, Monkey Sox, Ron Hill, Shokz, Topo, Altra, Brooks, New Balance, Hylo, On, Salomon, Currex, Kahru, Balega and Dr Shilpa Dave Health.
If you have any questions, just pop into the store or get in touch via email at [email protected], or send the store a message on Instagram.
