Teddington pub celebrates re-opening after lockdown

Outdoor spaces at pubs and restaurants across the UK were finally allowed to re-open on Monday 12 April.

In Teddington, there are plenty of brilliant places to go and grab a pint or a bite to eat and it was fantastic to see our town's hospitality back in action.

One pub which was celebrating being back was The Anglers at Teddington Lock.

Ben Walton, General Manager of the pub, told us about the experience.

Ben said: "We are over the moon to be open again.

"The last (hopefully final) lockdown has been pretty miserable for the team to say the least."

The pub recently went on a hiring spree, adding 25 new members to its existing team, and staff were busy getting the gardens ready for summer ahead of Monday's re-opening.

Since then the pub has been operating at limited capacity, but with the pizza kitchen opening this evening Ben expects that the pub will have a busy weekend ahead of them.

"Although we have taken bookings for the garden, we will also be holding some tables back for walk ins, so the impromptu visit to the pub isn't completely off limits," he said.

"One way or the other, we look forward to welcoming Teddington back."
