A new biannual arts festival, Paper Ink Print, is launching at Teddington's Landmark Arts Centre next week.

Running from 17 to 19 March 2023, the festival will bring together the printmaking community to champion the art of hand-printmaking, artists' books and papermaking.

The three-day event will consist of talks, classes and demonstrations alongside special exhibits with over 50 stands of artists selling their work directly to visitors.

Landmark Visual Curator, Abigail Thomas, said: "Paper Ink Print is a celebration of printmaking in all its forms and we're incredibly excited to be bringing together the talent from the printmaking community to share their passion and knowledge.

"There's a diverse range of workshops, talks and demos, plus we have the creative space to showcase large-scale artworks, some of which have never been exhibited."

The Richmond borough has a wealth of printmaking history and many print and book artists who have exhibited with the Landmark in the past.

The Arts Centre intends on building on the decorated history with a vibrant new event that will encourage visitors to learn more about the difference between hand-printmaking and digital prints, to discover what book art really is, and dive into the pulp of hand papermaking.

Highlights of Paper Ink Print will include conceptual artist, Lizzie Brewer's artists' book "10 Metres of Mycelium"; which has never been exhibited in its entirety, due to the scale of the work. Shokoufeh Fallah, winner of the 2022 East London Printmakers Bursary Award, will be exhibiting for the first time and London-based artist and printmaker, Frances Kiernan, is exhibiting with a new series of prints.

The opening night on Friday, 17 March will run from 4pm - 8pm whilst Saturday and Sunday will see the festival open from 10am - 4.30pm.
