Teddington MP Munira Wilson has called the chancellor's budget a 'missed opportunity to help small businesses.'
The Liberal Democrat MP for Twickenham tweeted out her thoughts on Chancellor Rishi Sunak's announcement.
She said: "The vast majority of those excluded from Government Covid support schemes are STILL excluded in #BudgetSpeech202.
"One year on, so many of our hard working entrepreneurs and small businesses are not being given a penny of help.
"Missed opportunity to help small businesses who are key to recovery."
Our MP was also critical of the budget in terms of health and social care.
Munira is the Liberal Democrat spokesperson for health and social care.
She said: "Quite shocked #BudgetSpeech2021 was pretty much silent on health and social care, given we're in the middle of a pandemic and services are experiencing pressure.
"Hugely disappointing there's still nothing on long-term social care reform & children's mental health.
"This pandemic has had a detrimental impact on young people's mental wellbeing.
"There's an urgent need for increased funding in mental health support. Early intervention is key for ensuring children access support they deserve.
"There is also nothing in #BudgetSpeech2021 on pay rises for NHS workers or social care staff. The workforce feels undervalued and services are struggling to retain staff.
"We must be providing them with a pay award that properly recognises their service."
