Three big cats have been reported in Teddington's borough of Richmond Upon Thames since 2015, the Met Police have revealed.

Police have disclosed numbers of reported sightings across all London boroughs, with Richmond Upon Thames coming second only to Barnet and Westminster, each with four sightings.

The information comes from a Freedom of Information request reported by This Is Local London which has revealed the number of sightings across London since 2015.

The Met Police were asked to provide all reports which included phrases including big cat, puma, panther, lion, tiger, large cat, cheetah, lynx or leopard.

The police revealed that there has been 37 reports during that timeframe.

While many reports are hoaxes or misidentifications, Dr Andrew Hemmings of the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester has said he believes there are hundreds of large predatory cats in the wild, according to This Is Local London.
