RICHMOND borough's community lottery Get Lucky Local celebrates its FIRST birthday this month and thanks to YOU it's been a fantastic year, despite the challenges of the pandemic.

We have sold over 51,000 tickets during the year and we have signed up SIXTY ONE Good Causes across the borough.

We have given away cash prizes totalling £55.000 including various amounts of £25, £250, £2000 and one bumper jackpot of £25,000 which was won by Teddington Theatre Club.

The amount of money donated to the Good Causes is £52,446 including the jackpot.

A spokesperson for Get Lucky Local said: "It's been a very tough year for everyone but Good Causes and charities have really felt the pinch because of the challenges of fund-raising.

"We'd like to think the lottery has stepped into the breach and given these projects a lifeline."

Local MP Munira Wilson, who attended the launch of the lottery at The Exchange, said: "Get Lucky Local has provided vital support to projects across the Borough which have suffered during the COVID crisis and it's a very simple way for the community to get behind projects that they feel strongly about or have helped them."
