Teddington travellers using the London Overground face significant delays this morning (Wednesday, 28 October) following a freight train breakdown at Willesden Junction.
The incident, which was first reported on at 08:58, has partially blocked lines and caused widespread travel turmoil across key routes.
National Rail said services running between Stratford and both Richmond and Clapham Junction are heavily impacted.
Rail operators have confirmed that trains along these corridors may be subject to short-notice cancellations or revised to start and terminate at Camden Road.
Transport authorities currently expect the disruption to continue until 12pm today.
To help keep passengers moving, a modified shuttle service is operating every 20 minutes between Gospel Oak and Stratford, departing at five, 25, and 45 minutes past the hour.
Furthermore, ticket acceptance has been arranged with London Buses, allowing passengers to travel via any reasonable route at no additional cost.
Passengers are strongly advised to verify their travel plans using the National Rail real-time Journey Planner before setting out.
Transport officials also remind passengers that those who suffer delays may be entitled to financial compensation.
Affected travellers should retain their physical or digital tickets and keep a record of their journey details to support any delay claims.
