Teddington community centre to host talk exploring history of Bushy Park
By James Bools 8th Apr 2026
A free talk exploring the history of a local park will take place in Teddington tomorrow (Thursday, 9 April).
The event will be hosted by Rebecca Harvey from the Friends of Bushy and Home Parks, and will take place at the Elleray Centre from 6pm to 7pm.
It will "explore the secrets and factors that shaped Bushy Park", and examine the role history has played in making the beloved green space what it is today.
Thanks to the park receiving royal protection, it has been left largely untouched by human hands, ensuring that its history, which includes remnants of medieval farming and tudor hunting camps, is visible to the public.
The park is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest thanks to its unique flora and fauna, significant numbers of ancient trees and rare insects, and expansive areas of rare acid grassland.
Tickets can be booked through Eventbrite here.
