Teddington Choral Society is resuming is its rehearsals from Monday 9 September at St Catherine's School in Twickenham.
Founded in 1951 by Lisette Brooks, Teddington Choral Society has performed in some very renowned venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall and at Kneller Hall with the Band of the Royal Military School of Music.
The choir has also sung in Central Hall, Westminster, Alexandra Palace and Kew Gardens along with other prestigious venues outside London.
The Musical Director Julian Collings was appointed in 2019.
Over the last few years, the choir has enjoyed a growing reputation for its repertoire of outstanding contemporary music alongside established classics.
Phil Culling is Teddington Choral Society's accompanist.
The choir currently has around 120 members, performs three main concerts each year, and takes part in local community events such as Carols singing performances.
While there is a focus on achieving high standards, Collings also encourages an enjoyment of music-making and a sense of humour during rehearsals.
In March 2024 the choir performed the Verdi Requiem in a version for a specialist ensemble of five instrumentalists, including a marimba.
With its past successes and imaginative programming, the choir continues to thrive and grow.
Teddington Choral Society's programme this coming year will propose:
