The owner of Teddington's Café Benedict, Ben Phillips is planning to take over the former Antipodea café in Radnor Gardens in Strawberry Hill.

Antipodea, which was owned by an Australian chain, first opened in the summer of 2021 and closed down in the spring of 2023 following repeated break-ins, vandalism and antisocial behaviour which left staff in fear.

The Australian-themed café has other branches in Kew and Richmond.

Phillips hopes to relaunch it as The Strawberry Patch.

It is expected that  The Strawberry Patch will open in the next month.
