RICHMOND upon Thames has cemented itself as one of the best places to live in Britain for education and children.
All 11 secondary schools in the borough are now rated as 'good' or 'outstanding', while the borough has some of the best performing Primaries in the country.
Teddington School was one of the borough's schools that recently improved its rating from 'requires improvement' to 'good' after an inspection in November 2021.
The school was recognised for its inclusive and supportive classroom environment where pupils enjoy their lessons, feel happy and are safe.
It has followed success at both Twickenham School and Hampton High, which have both moved from 'requires improvement' to good following assessment from the regulator, Ofsted.
All three of the improving Secondary schools are now part of the Bourne Education Trust, a multi-academy trust of 20 primary and secondary schools. Twickenham School and Hampton High joined in September last year.
Cllr Penny Frost, Chair of the Education and Children's Services Committee at Richmond Council, said: "This is a fantastic achievement for the borough's secondary schools.
"It goes to show how hard working the schools' leaders and staff members are, and I want to thank them for going above and beyond to deliver a high-quality education to young people in Richmond upon Thames. Well done to everyone involved!"
