A Teddington-based charity focused on supporting the people of Ukraine with ambulances, pick-Up trucks, and aid is setting off on its 22nd humanitarian mission tomorrow (Wednesday, 25 February).
Mighty Convoy, which is based on Cambridge Road and led by Simon Brake, will take three ambulances and three pick-up trucks on a 1245-mile cross-country journey to Lviv in the west of Ukraine, 50 miles from the Polish border on Wednesday.
The latest mission will mark a milestone of 95 vehicles being delivered to Ukraine and over 140 volunteer drivers supporting the effort.
Charity Goods For Good has donated 60 boxes of hoodies and the convoy will also be carrying 400 sleeping bags as well as medical aid including crutches, wheelchairs, baby wipes, baby scales, baby clothes, baby cots and first aid kits.
The supplies and vehicles will be driven to a rendezvous point near Lviv where military and charity officials will decide how best to deploy them, either on the frontline or to support civilian casualties.
