Teddington art gallery to host 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup-inspired exhibition

An art gallery in Teddington is hosting an exhibition inspired by the 2025 Women's Rugby World Cup this month (September).

The Beach, which is located on Waldegrave Road, will be hosting the Touchlines of Fortitude exhibition, which is all about seizing this moment to celebrate and amplify the narrative around female strength, empowerment, creativity and expression, as well as expanding and enhancing how these stories are told and shared.

Those visiting the exhibition will have the opportunity to see the creative works – inspired by the theme of 'Female Resilience' – that will be on display from award-winning local artists Agnieszka Lokaj, Gina DeCagna and Tahira Mandarino.

The exhibition schedule is as follows:

TOUCHLINES OF FORTITUDE I

Friday, 12 September – Sunday, 21 September from 10am - 5pm

An exhibition of works on 'Female Resilience' sourced through open-call

Thursday, 25 September – Sunday, 5 October from 10am - 5pm

The Beach will also be hosting various events linking to the exhibition.

Saturday, 13 September at 2pm

'BUILDING RESILIENCE' PUBLIC TALK
Hosted by rugby filmmaker and content creator Victoria Rush (@victoriahrush @nowomannotry @all80rugby), featuring rugby journalist Alison Kervin OBE and artist Kate Howe (@katehowestudios)

TOUCHLINES OF FORTITUDE AWARDS

Celebrating the best works from the open-call exhibition, judged by a panel including prominent art critic Tabish Khan (@londonartcritic) and multi-award-winning figurative artist Karen Turner (@karen_turner_artist)

Sunday, 28 September at 2pm

The Beach opened back in November 2024 and is owned by Teddington-born Mark Vellacott, who attended Teddington School and has up until recently resided all over Australia.

The gallery presents art from a variety of local artists, including Vellacott's late mother, Avril Vellacott who's originally from North Devon, Mark Owen from Station Road, and Teddington's Carmella.
