Residents are encouraged to take part in the Teddington White Ribbon Torch Walk on December 10 to raise awareness of violence against women and girls.

The walk will take place on the final day of the 16 days of action which took off on November 25, the international day for elimination of violence against women.

Residents of all ages are welcome to join on December 10, with the walk set to take off from the Landmark Arts Centre at 4.30pm and make its way through Teddington High Street and Broad Street. Participants are encouraged to bring an electric torch or use their phone light to demonstrate the town's solidarity with victims and the collective determination to eliminate the issue.

White Ribbon is the UK's leading charity engaging men and boys to end violence against women and girls. The organisation aims to challenge the long established, and harmful, attitudes, systems and behaviours around masculinity that perpetuate gender inequality and men's violence against women.
