26 October: Halloween at Horace Walpole's Little Gothic Castle

Experience a Halloween to remember with a visit to Horace Walpole's Gothic masterpiece, during a week of atmospheric, spine-tingling fun.

Spanding beyond Half Term, from 26 October to 3 November, General Admission from 11am-4pm will allow you, your family, and friends to experience the House like never before.

With shutters closed and "gloomth" prevailing, you can experience the House as Walpole himself would have in his day.

Rooms will be aglow with flickering candlelight, shadows will be dancing in the eerie gloom, and hidden surprises will lurk in every corner.

Made for families, there's creepy fun to be had as you spot the spooky, hand-sized spiders tucked away throughout the house.

Throughout Half Term week there is also a Halloween Garden Trail for kids with a sweet treat from The Garden Café as a prize for completion.

On 26 and 27 October and 2 and 3 November, young visitors to the house can enjoy spooky storytelling.

Creative kids can also join one of the Self-led Spook-tacular Witch and Wizard hat making sessions on 28 October.

However, the highlight for Gothic enthusiasts is the popular Halloween Gothic Tour, returning on 30 and 31 October.

During the tour, guests will wander the house by candlelight as they hear macabre tales, including Walpole's own nightmarish visions that led to the first gothic novel The Castle of Otranto.

Attendees can also choose from two spine-chilling adults-only evening tours or the family friendly Matinee Halloween Gothic Tour on the afternoon of the 30 October.

There will also be a complimentary glass of fizz to calm your nerves as the House's history comes to life.

You can find out more information and book your tickets here.
