The Wharf to host public meeting in opposition of Thames Water’s Teddington abstraction project

The Wharf Bar & Restaurant is inviting locals to join concerned residents, environmentalists, community leaders, and the press at a critical public meeting to oppose Thames Water's Teddington Direct River Abstraction (TDRA) project.
The meeting will run at the restaurant from 6.30pm tomorrow (Tuesday, 29 July).
Speaking about the meeting, The Wharf said: "his stretch of the Thames isn't just picturesque — it's one of London's most beloved areas for water sports, wildlife, and family recreation. The proposed discharge contains chemicals and micro-pollutants that would be banned in Europe — with unknown consequences for our health, ecosystems, and local wildlife.
"If this plan goes ahead, Teddington could go from affluent suburb to effluent suburb.
"We need your voice. We need your signature. We need your support."

It added: "This is not just a local issue. This is your river, your community, your future. Make your voice heard. Come down with your children, your pets and paddleboards and participate in our drone photo."
If you would like to attend the meeting, you can RSVP by emailing [email protected]
The Wharf is one of our lovely sponsors.
Without their community-minded sponsorship, we wouldn't be able to bring you local news free from overly-intrusive ads, pop-ups and clickbait, thank you.
