Friday 11 October-Sunday 13 October, Normansfield Theatre, various times.
Puccini's IL TABARRO (The Cloak) - evokes a 'film noir' atmosphere with his most searing and haunting melodies.

Watercolour Houses
Saturday 12 October, Stepping on Out, 7 The Causeway, Teddington, 10am-1pm.
Join us for the latest in our series of watercolour painting workshops with experienced local teacher and professional artist Karen Iredale Lucas, this time focussing on the art of creating pictures of buildings.
In this informative and relaxing Saturday morning workshop, Karen will start by demonstrating how to use basic line drawing techniques to draw the outline of the exterior of the building, teaching you about correct angles of line using the rules of perspective.
You'll then add some textural detail and use watercolour washes to apply colour as desired.
Karen will guide you as you work on your own paintings, with participant numbers kept deliberately low to ensure everyone has plenty of opportunities for help and to ask any questions they may have.
By the end of the class, everyone will have an original watercolour art work to take home.
Either bring along a photo of the exterior of your house (or another of your choice), or use our photograph of Marble Hill House.
The class is suitable for both beginners and for those with more experience wanting to improve their painting skills. It's also a great follow-on for attendees of Karen's previous watercolour classes.
We'll provide the paper, brushes and paints, together with lots of tea, coffee and homemade cake, but please feel free to bring along your own set of watercolour paints and brushes if you'd prefer.

Japanese Stitching Workshop
Sunday 13 October, Stepping on Out, 7 The Causeway, Teddington, 10am-1pm.
Learn how to breathe fresh life into your old and frayed – but still beloved – clothes using traditional Japanese hand sewing techniques!
Rather than throwing them away and adding to landfill, our class will show you how to live a little more sustainably and give your clothes a new lease of life.
In this relaxed Sunday morning workshop with experienced tutor Suzanne Strachan, you'll be shown the beautiful Japanese techniques of Sashiko and Boro stitching.
Not only is this a great way to extend the life of your clothes, but it also allows you to create beautiful and original samplers, wall hangings, cushions and much more.
We'll have a range of small pieces of fabric which you can use to patch up garments, together with Sashiko threads. Either bring along an item that you'd like to mend and embellish, or we'll have fabric samples you can work on to practise your stitching and designs.
You won't need to use a sewing machine at all, as the focus in this class is all about relaxed and mindful hand stitching.
We'll also provide lots of tea, coffee and homemade cake to help your concentration!
The workshop will be led by expert sewer, knitter and textiles consultant, Suzanne Strachan.
