Live Music at The King's Head
About: Head on down to The King's Head in Teddington for some live music this weekend.
Musician Alex Jones says he will be performing live acoustic covers all evening, joking that the show will last 'until they ask me to leave'.
Regardless of how long Mr Jones sticks around, the night promises a range of hits from throughout the ages, with an eclectic lineup from Hozier, Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, and Elvis to name a few.
Add in a few drinks from the pub's well-stocked bar, and the evening is sure to help ease any blues from the recent July weather.
When: Saturday 13 July from 6pm.
Where: The King's Head, 123 High Street, Teddington, TW11 8HG
Price: No extra charge, but be prepared to be tempted by The King's Head's new summer menu, which launches today!
Art Course Show 2024
About: Regular readers will have noticed a number of arts workshops and courses on our weekly roundups, but did you know these are only a small selection of what Landmark Arts Centre has on offer?
Students from all these courses are coming together for a three-day exhibition of their work produced over the last year, including painting, drawing, embroidery, sculpture, ceramics & mixed media.
When: Friday 12 July, 10am to 4pm; Saturday 13 July. 10am to 1pm; Sunday 14 July, 10am to 4pm.
Where: Landmark Arts Centre, Ferry Road, Teddington, TW11 9NN.
Price: Free.
Jazz with the Maxyne Ryan Duo – Sunday, 9 June
About: Maxyne has been performing for over 20 years and has played at many of London's iconic venues including The Royal Albert Hall, The London Palladium, The Savoy and The Dorchester
In 2016 she resigned from a leadership position in education to study a Masters Degree in Jazz Voice at the world renowned Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Maxyne is coming to The Wharf this weekend, where she will perform songs from the great American Songbook as well as a few choice jazz and soul classics.
When: Sunday 14 July from 1pm.
Where: The Wharf Bar & Grill, 22 Manor Road, Teddington, TW11 8BG.
Price: Free.
The Bootleg Beatles
About: Hampton Pool favourites, The Bootleg Beatles, are returning for 2024 for 'a magical mystery tour through the hits of The Beatles'.
Organisers say: "They are regarded less as a tribute, but more as a reincarnation of The Beatles!"
While we can't confirm or deny this claim, Nub News can hazard a guess that the group is as close as you can get to the real deal, having performed more than 4,500 shows on both national and global tours.
When: Friday 12 July, with doors opening from 7pm.
Where: Hampton Pool, High Street, Hampton, TW12 2ST.
Price: £35 for adult tickets, £18 for children between 4- and 12-years old.
Family Fun Day
About: Teddington Baptist Church's annual Family Fun day is back with a new seaside theme!
The event will host a wide range of classic beach-themed activities, including free donkey rides, puppets and fish and chips alongside usual favourites from previous years.
"Everyone is welcome to our free event," say organisers.
When: Saturday 13 July, between 2pm and 5pm.
Where: Teddington Baptist Church, 17 Church Road, Teddington, TW11 8PF.
Price: Free entry.
Twickenham Community Choir Summer Concert
About: Join Twickenham Community Choir for an evening filled with uplifting music in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The talented choir and its soloists will be performing a mix of classic and contemporary songs – the perfect way to kick off the summer season with friends and family.
Songs from Mozart to Bernstein and Richard Rodgers as well as sensational solo numbers will be performed accompanied by Errol Hui on piano and conducted by Helen Astrid.
When: Thursday 11 July, from 7pm to 8:30pm.
Where: The Mall School, 185 Hampton Road, Twickenham, TW2 5NQ.
Price: Adults, £16.96. Children under 12, £9.38. Concessions, £12.62. Additional donations are welcome.
Kingston Regatta
About: About: Watch some of the country's leading rowing clubs compete over two days on Kingston's beautiful stretch of the River Thames.
With 320 races set to take place over the two-day event, spectators can spend all weekend out on the banks of the Thames (so long as the weather holds up of course).
The event's licensed bar will be joined by a number of street food vendors, serving several pasta dishes (Soffritto), pork rolls & mac and cheese (Mr Pigstuff) and traditional wood-fired pizza (Dough Shack), helping give attendees the staying power to stick around all day!
When: All weekend – Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July. Races will run from 8:30am to 6:30pm both days.
Where: River Thames, between Ravens Ait and Kingston Bridge. The enclosure, hosting food stalls, a bar, and other facilities, can be found on the riverbank on the Teddington-side, near Barge Wal and Home Park.
Price: Free entry.
