White Ribbon Walk
Saturday 7 December, Hampton Wick Station, meet at midday.
For this walk, we Richmond Council is joining forces with Kingston Council to build awareness of the issue within our local community.
The statistics are shocking. In the UK, every three days a woman is murdered, we have seen the number of recorded offences rise by 37% since 2018 and the perpetrators are getting younger. Here in Richmond and Kingston, a survey of school girls showed that only 50% could say they have never been harassed in the school environment.
We have to act, but can only make a change as a community working together. So, the series of White Ribbon Walks is designed to drive awareness of the issue and provide people with the confidence and tools to make a difference.
The White Ribbon walks have been held across the borough, opening conversations and building partnerships with local schools, sports clubs and community groups. We share information on safe spaces, bystander training (learning to intervene safely), local business support and also support services available.

Open Bar presents 'A Christmas Carol'
Saturday 7 December, The Anglers, 7.30pm start.
Open Bar has brought Dickens' classic Christmas tale into the heart of Fuller's pubs since 2017.
In true Open Bar style, the show is totally family friendly, engaging and full of laughs, with music, ghostly goings-on and more than a little Christmas magic.
A Christmas Carol tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, a bitter old miser, who, on Christmas Eve is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley.
Desperate to convince him of the error of his ways, Marley sends three ghosts to lead Scrooge through his past, present and future.
The spirit or spirits in this case of Christmas is brought to life in this Classic tale.
Guests will need to book a table separately before the show if they would like to dine.

Impressions - a Day at the Gallery
Sunday 8 December, Landmark Arts Centre.
The School of Dance Mortlake is very happy to be returning for a fourth time to the Landmark Arts Centre with another evening of entertainment.
Impressions – A Day at the Gallery and we are taken on a magical journey through the world of art.
A group of school children spend the day at an art gallery with their teacher. While looking at the pictures one of the children is enthralled at the beauty of what she sees, and falls back from the group.
She imagines the paintings coming to life, and watches in wonder as each tells a story of its own, from the comical crabs by Vincent van Gogh, through the Equatorial Jungle by Henri Rousseau to The Great Wave by Hokusai. Works of Monet, Vermeer, Constable, Banksy and other paintings dance before her eyes.
