It's that time of year when we can start looking forward to Christmas, so The Anglers pub has a variety of events coming up to help you get into the festive spirit.

Christmas Menu

The Anglers has several occasions over the festive period where you can enjoy its Christmas menu, including:

Christmas Eve: 10am – 9.30pm with opening times being 10am – midnight.

Christmas Day: 12pm – 3pm with opening times being 12pm – 6pm.

Boxing Day: 10am – 9.30pm with opening times being 10am – 11pm.

New Year's Eve: 10 am – 10pm with opening times being 10am – 2am.

New Year's Day: 10 am – 9pm with opening times being 10 am -11pm.

From 25 November – 24 December, guests can order the Christmas Drinks and Nibbles package, which consists of canapes and a bottle of prosecco.

Canapes could include mini mice pies, pigs in blankets, garlic chilli prawns, and mushroom arancini with truffle mayo.

The package is £15 per person and is for a minimum of twelve people.

Alternatively, punters can opt for the Buffet Menu during these dates which costs £25 per person.

As part of this menu, diners can choose six items from the menu, which includes a variety of fish, meat, and plant-based dishes, and a warm chocolate brownie for dessert.

Or punters can choose to go all out with The Anglers Christmas Party menu, running from 25 November – 24 December, which includes a three-course meal for £45 per person.

For starters, diners can choose from butternut squash soup, London porter smoked salmon, Duck rillette, or mushroom ravioli.

Mains include Usk Vale turkey breast, nut roast, braised blade of beef, pan fried sea bream, and pan fried gnocchi.

And for dessert, diners can choose from Christmas pudding, chocolate delice, rum & raisin cheesecake, mulled wine poached pear, or a cheeseboard for an extra £10.

The Christmas Day menu offers three courses for £115 per person.

To start diners can either opt for canapes, including duck rillette, onion pissaladière, and smoked salmon blinis, or for classic starters, including artichoke soup, dressed crab, duck liver parfait, and goat's cheesecake.

Mains include Usk Vale turkey breast, spice cauliflower wellington, tournedos Rossini, and hake fillet.

For dessert, diners can try Christmas pudding, dark chocolate ganache, vanilla parfait, and mince pie crumble tart, or they can opt for a cheeseboard for an extra £10.

Christmas Festival 2024

The Anglers' Christmas Festival is running from Friday 6 December (5pm – 9pm), Saturday 7 December (11am – 4pm), and Sunday 8 December (11am – 4pm).

The Anglers' Christmas Festival is a magical weekend, filled with festive fun, live entertainment, and holiday cheer for the whole family.

The festival is FREE and has a jam-packed schedule of activities, such as live performances from local talent, including the Whitton Community Big Band, North Kingston Choir, and more.

At the festival, you can also browse unique gifts and treats from local artisans, or let the little ones enjoy entertainment with The Fun Gang UK, featuring games, prizes, and a chance to meet Santa in his cosy grotto.

The kids can also enjoy the special Santa Experience, where they can help Twinkletoes the Elf find lost candy canes before visiting Santa.

Guests can also get creative decorating gingerbread cookies, enjoy face painting, and try their luck with The Anglers' tombola and raffle.

 It's the perfect way to kick off the festive season – bring the whole family for a weekend of Christmas cheer.

The Santa Experience - Friday 6th December 5:45pm - 8:25pm

At the Santa Experience, attendees will join Twinkletoes the elf on a magical mission to find Santa's lost candy canes.

Only the most Christmassy children will uncover the canes and unlock the secret to meeting Santa in his cosy Grotto.

Once inside, guests can enjoy festive songs with Santa and Mrs. Claus, receive a special gift, and capture a magical photo together.

The adventure ends with a delicious Gingerbread Man to decorate, and each child will take home their candy cane, gift, and gingerbread creation.

Tickets are £12.50 per child (including one adult) and £5 for an additional adult.

The Santa Experience is aimed at children aged 2+, but all are welcome.

Time slots start every 15 minutes from 5:45pm to 8pm.

The Anglers asks that attendees arrive 5 minutes early at the meeting point: the "Santa Experience Here" board in the pub garden.

Open Bar Presents A Christmas Carol - Saturday 7 December: 7:30 PM

Open Bar has brought Dickens' classic Christmas tale into the heart of Fuller's pubs since 2017.

In true Open Bar style, the show is totally family friendly, engaging and full of laughs, with music, ghostly goings-on and more than a little Christmas magic.

A Christmas Carol tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, a bitter old miser, who, on Christmas Eve is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley.

Desperate to convince him of the error of his ways, Marley sends three ghosts to lead Scrooge through his past, present and future. 

The spirit or spirits in this case of Christmas is brought to life in this Classic tale.

Guests will need to book a table separately before the show if they would like to dine.

Paint & Prosecco Night: Wednesday 11 December: 7.30pm

The Anglers is hosting a guided art workshop where you can enjoy a glass of prosecco whilst bringing out your inner Picasso.

This laid-back workshop is a great way to mix up date night or get your friends together for a memorable experience whilst creating something unique for your home.

Led by local artist, designer, and tutor Nicolene Grigg, it is set to be fun, inspiring, dynamic and may even kickstart a new hobby.

Tickets for the Art Class are £35 per person and include Prosecco on arrival and an A3 canvas.
