The Mall School has become Richmond Borough Swimming Champion for the second year in a row.

In February, The Mall  School swimming squad participated in the Richmond Borough Swimming Championships, held at Pools on the Park.

The team achieved fantastic individual and relay successes and were placed first both in the independent schools category and in the overall event, becoming Borough champions for the second consecutive year.

The competition draws schools from across the borough, showcasing a wide range of swimming talents across various age groups.

The Mall squad performed well across all categories with notable individual and relay results in the following events:

  • Year 5 Freestyle | 2nd place
  • Year 4 Freestyle | 4th place
  • Butterfly | 1st place
  • 3 x 1 Medley | 1st place.
  • Backstroke | 1st place
  • 4 x 1 Freestyle Relay | 1st place
  • Breast Stroke | 2nd place
  • Year 6 Freestyle | 1st place
  • 4 x 1 Mixed Relay Final |3rd place

Swimming is a big feature of school life at The Mall, with all pupils from Reception upwards having weekly swimming lessons in the on-site indoor heated 20 metre pool.

Nursery children also have access to weekly, age-appropriate lessons as part of their fees.

Pupils take part in regular galas against other schools and internally as inter-house competitions.

The children make amazing progress in their swimming, following the schools own awards programme.
