Keen Teddington-based amateur photographer, Clare Reilly, was delighted to learn that one of her winter images has been selected as a Christmas card for the local charity, The Friends of Bushy and Home Parks.

Her stunning image of a stag staring directly into the lens as the snow falls is called Stag in Snow and will be amongst the cards on sale at the Bushy Park Visitor Centre near The Pheasanty Café and online. A single card is £1.50 and a pack of five cards is £4.

The other six images chosen show various beautiful winter scenes of frosty days, a sunset, fallow deer in the snow and a stunning image of a robin.

Clare, who is a regular visitor to the Park said: "I wandered into the Park with the camera, not expecting to capture much due to the poor visibility. But there the deer were, with snow covering their antlers and their fur and some even locking horns through the storm. It was hard to believe that it was our benign Bushy Park!"

For photography enthusiasts the image was taken the photo was taken near the Blandford gate with a Nikon D750 & 28-300 lens.

Other stunning park scenes are captured on the Christmas cards which can be purchased at the Bushy Park Visitor Centre.

Profits from the sale of the Christmas cards, a Christmas calendar and other items in the shop are used to fund various projects in both Bushy and Home Parks.

The local charity is dedicated to the protection, conservation, improvement and increased appreciation of the parks, find out more here.
