The Bentalls Centre store in Kingston will re-open on Monday as part of the lockdown easing programme announced by the government. The shopping experience will be very different with many new health and safety measures in place.

Below is the full breakdown of changes and advice for Safe Shopping as outlined by the store itself.

Welcome back to The Bentall Centre.

Our highest priority is to maintain the health and wellbeing of our customers and teams during this time, therefore we have introduced new measures that we ask for all to abide by while visiting us.

• Please use the designated entrance and exit doors

• Keep a 2m safe distance from other shoppers and staff

• Please be aware that increased cleaning schedules and deep cleaning are in place throughout the centre

• Hand sanitiser and hand-washing facilities are available throughout the centre

• Please choose a contactless payment option where possible

• Do not arrange to meet in groups

• Be kind and respect others

These measures are in line with advice from the UK Government and Public Health England.

Facility Updates

• Entrance & Exits – A one-way system has been introduced to allow easier and safer access to the centre

• Capability Control – We will be monitoring the numbers of customers to ensure guests have the space to observe social distancing requirements

• Hand Sanitisers – Stations are situated around the centre for customers and teams to use

• Escalators – We ask for all customers to leave a safe distance of 5 steps behind the person in front while using the escalators

• Lifts – Will be available for priority use only, with one family of up to 4 people able to use the lift at any one time

• Toilet facilities – Remain open, although a strict queuing system is in place. This requires all customers wishing to use the facilities to queue in a single lane queue

• Priority Seating – Seating in the centre will now be available for priority use only, to follow Government guidelines

Enhanced Cleaning Measures

• Please be aware that increased deep-cleaning schedules are in place throughout the centre and will take place at regular intervals throughout the day

• Our cleaning teams will be provided PPE to ensure their safety and will be working on rotas to ensure that no team member has too much exposure to contamination

• We advise our customers and teams to respect the hygiene protocols advised by Public Health England

Safer Shopping Experience

• Stores within the centre that have reopened are abiding by strict measures outlined by the UK Government and Public Health England, to offer a safer shopping experience for all

• Selected high footfall stores have a small queuing system located on the mall. Social distancing measures will be in place within the queues

Getting to the Centre

• A new queuing system has been introduced for customers wishing to pay for parking via the pay stations

• The Bentall Centre has 57 bicycle stations located in Car parks A, B and Seven Kings. These are free to use and available for all members of the public
