Royal Parks Police's Safer Parks Team dealt with seven people fishing illegally using inadequate fishing gear in Bushy Park's Canal Refuge yesterday evening (Monday, 7 July).

In a post on X, Royal Parks Police said: "The Safer Parks Team at Bushy Park have been dealing with a total of seven people who they found fishing illegally using inadequate fishing gear in the canal refuge.

"This activity can harm the fish and injure waterfowl. Offenders can be taken to court by police and prosecuted."
