Not long until Get Lucky Local tickets go on sale

Over 20 charities and community organisations have signed up to the new Get Lucky Local good causes lottery which benefits groups chosen by the players, it was announced today.(wed)

Tickets for the online lottery, which cost £1 go on sale for the first time next Tuesday (October 6) with a weekly draw and prizes range from a £25.000 jackpot to £2000, £250, £25 and free tickets.

The organisations which have signed up and will get their own space on the Get Lucky Local website include several local Richmond Borough based charities as well as arts, sports and culture groups.

A spokesperson for Get Lucky Local: "We are delighted with the early support we have received and we hope to build on that very quickly when people begin to see the impact and benefit the lottery has on good causes across the Borough."

For every £1 spent by a player, 50p goes to the good cause they have selected and 10p automatically goes into a central fund to support other causes compared to 28p in the £ for the National Lottery.
