Over the past four weeks, Crossroads Care's 30 Regulated Key Volunteers have completed over 500 requested trips to supermarkets, hospitals, homes and pharmacies.
The volunteers' assistance is helping to ensure that the core team of Regulated Care Support Workers can concentrate solely on contractual social and health care contracts and current clients.
Crossroads Care Richmond and Kingston upon Thames was established in 1987 and is affiliated to the national network of Carers Trust and are the leading local provider of support for carers and the people they care for.
The organisation works with carers and their families, helping carers to make a life of their own outside caring and provides the special quality of care that gives them the peace of mind to let someone else step into their shoes.
The core service is the provision of home-based respite care with skilled and dedicated care-staff taking over the role of caring for a few hours whist the carer takes a break.
