Tickets for Rob Brydon's Work-in-Progress show at the Landmark Arts Centre were snapped up in just 90 seconds of being released.

Going live at 10am on 27 October, it was the fastest ever selling event and box office record for the community arts venue in southwest London.

Anticipation was high to see the popular comedian and entertainer (whose credits include BBC TV hits Gavin & Stacey, I'm Alan Partridge, The Trip, and Would I Lie to You?) Brydon, who is also a local resident, is making his first ever appearance at the arts centre.

Arts Centre Director, Harper Ray, said: "I worked hard to secure Rob Brydon at the Landmark and we are honoured and delighted to have him here."

High up-take for tickets was expected. With a limited window to publicise the performance, the Landmark made several announcements in the week prior to the on-sale date.

Subscribers and supporters were notified to ensure customers had a fair and equal opportunity to purchase tickets

"While I'm pleased so many people wanted to see him, it's also sad that so many are unable to," Mr Ray added. "Landmark staff and volunteers included."

Rob Brydon's show has set a record for fast selling tickets, overtaking Ronnie Scott's, which sold out in 48 hours, reflecting demand for big performers at the Landmark.

Mr Ray went on to say: "Rob Brydon is a big name and tickets were great value, so demand was extremely high and reached unprecedented levels.

"We recognise that many people were unable to secure tickets and were understandably disappointed."

Other big names this year include international performer, Ivy Paige and Irish musician, Camille O'Sullivan.

The Landmark Arts Centre is an independent charity (1047080) dedicated to offering a wide range of arts education activities for children, young people, and adults by providing a stimulating, year-round, programme of live events including music, comedy, poetry, and dance as well as providing exhibition opportunities for visual artists and designer-makers through art fairs and group and solo exhibitions, to help care for our amazing Grade II* listed building.
