Local outfit Thamesians Ladies Rugby Football Club has announced a blockbuster fixture for March as the club prepares to host Suresnes, who visit from Paris.

Initially established as a 7s side in 2018, Thamesians LRFC has expanded over the past five years to become a thriving squad of over 20 players who have roared their way to the Women's NC1 division.

The sides blistering form during the 2022/23 campaign saw the Teddington-based team comfortably secure top spot with a record of five wins and one loss which included two 85-0 victories against Harlequin Amateurs Women.

Thamesians will head into their Suresnes clash on red-hot form.

However, Thamesians will be well aware of the stern test lying before them when Suresnes visit St Mary's University on March 11.

The Parisian outfit have three commanding wins from their last four, underlining the calibre of opponents Thamesians has been able to draw during its incredible rise.

With an 11am kick off at the sides' home ground at St Mary's University on Saturday, March 11, residents will be treated to a spectacle championing women's sport in the Richmond borough.

Thamesians has played a leading role in providing opportunities for women in Rugby with local MP, Munira Wilson, recently referencing one of the squad's players in a parliamentary debate which can be viewed below.

March 11th provides the perfect opportunity to see Thamesians take on European opponents and support a local team which serves as a bedrock in the community.

Thamesians Ladies RFC train on Wednesday nights at the St Mary's University Sports Ground in Teddington. If you're interested in watching or playing for Thamesians Ladies, you can find more information about the team on their website HERE.
