A suspect was pursed by police in a car chase before being challenged with a taser and arrested in Teddington High Street, officers reported yesterday (28 November).

Police were called to a road rage incident on Heath Road, Teddington, just after 1am where the caller was threatened by the occupant of a Mercedes.

On sighting the Richmond Response Team, the suspect vehicle made off, and was pursued.

The chase came to an end on Teddington High Street, where the suspect was challenged with a taser, and arrested.

Inside the vehicle were found multiple bottles of nitrous oxide, 30 snap bags of MDMA, 20 snap bags of meth amphetamine, 18 snap bags of crack cocaine, 48 packets of cannabis edibles and 28 snap bags of cannabis and hash.

In addition to the drugs, £1500 cash was recovered, a baseball bat, eight mobile phones and bank cards.

A statement from Richmond Met Police said: "If you were woken by sirens on the route of the pursuit, apologies, but hopefully you all recognise the necessity sometimes."
