Richmond Council to host sustainability forum this month

Richmond Council is holding its next Richmond Sustainability Forum at Orleans House Gallery on from 6pm – 7.30pm on 26 March.
At the forum, attendees will hear about a variety of local projects, including an exclusive preview of a new art and nature exhibition, and have the chance to share their ideas for creating a greener future in Richmond borough.
You can get tickets for the free event on Eventbrite.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in interactive discussions about the council's new strategy for 2025-30 and help shape the final version before it is presented in June.
The strategy will drive the council toward its goals to become a carbon-neutral council by 2030 and a Net Zero borough by 2043 and has five key focus areas:
- Making our buildings more energy efficient
- Expanding sustainable transport and reducing air pollution
- Enhancing our green spaces and supporting biodiversity
- Moving toward a zero-waste economy
- Preparing Richmond borough for climate impacts, like flooding and extreme heat
In addition to these discussions, attendees will have an exclusive preview of the Cultural Reforesting exhibition, opening at Orleans House Gallery on Thursday, 27 March.
This exhibition explores the role of art and culture in strengthening our connection with nature and tackling the climate crisis.
They will also receive updates on Richmond Council's Community BlueScapes flood resilience programme and its new Adaptation and Resilience Strategy
If you can't make the forum, you can still share your views on the council's draft Climate and Nature Strategy before 5 May through its consultation hub.
Richmond Council encourages everyone to travel sustainably where possible. The gallery is a short walk from St Margarets Station.
