Richmond Council refuses plans to add additional storey to Teddington building for new flats

Richmond Council has refused a planning application, which proposed to add an extra storey to a building in Teddington to accommodate flats.
The application, which was for 59 – 67 Broad Street, sought approval for a development comprising "the construction of an additional storey to accommodate 11 flats with ancillary storage for refuse and cycles".
While the application received some support from neighbouring residents, it received over 40 resident objections.
The local residents who objected to the proposals raised various concerns, including noise and disruption to the local area during the construction of the development, parking problems, and that the development will be higher than the nearby buildings on Broad Street.
