The Richmond based comedy series, Ted Lasso, shone at last night's Emmy Awards with the Apple TV+ show sweeping four awards in Los Angeles.
The hit series has become a fan favourite across the Richmond borough, throughout the country, and indeed worldwide - which follows coach Ted Lasso's (Jason Sudeikis) journey with his beloved AFC Richmond.
Heading into last night's Emmy's with 20 nominations, the series picked up Outstanding comedy series, Directing for a comedy series (MJ Delaney - "No Weddings And A Funeral"), Lead actor in a comedy series (Jason Sudeikis) and Supporting actor in a comedy series (Brett Goldstein).
Speaking at the event, Jason Sudeikis, who is the also the executive producer, said: "This show is about good and evil. This show is about the truth and lies.
"This show is about all that stuff but it's mostly about our response to those things. And your response to our show has been overwhelming."
He added: "Thanks to the people who watch this show and dig it as much as we did making it."
The cast and crew have built a strong connection to the Richmond borough throughout the filming of the hit show. Ted's fictional home and local pub are set on the narrow shopping street, Paved Court, and locations at Brewers Green and Pembroke Villas have also been used frequently.
Actor Brendan Hunt who stars as Ted Lasso's understated sidekick Coach Beard, and is also the show's co-creator, previously revealed to Nub News where his particular affections to Richmond lie.
He said: "I frequent many of the pubs, obviously the ones above but I'm very partial to the Marlborough and the Roebuck on Richmond Hill, The White Swan, The Old Ship in the middle of town, where we got roped in to joining their quiz night and won and The Sun Inn.
I love the Italian restaurant next to Ted's front door in Paved Court called L'Assaggino and another Italian called Sebastians and now we have moved to Richmond during the filming of Series 3 we are much closer and within walking distance of everything which is great!"
